The LMU Munich Medical International GmbH (LMU-MMI) was established as a subsidiary corporation of the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich to respond to the global demand for excellence in health care, clinical services, medical education and research projects. LMU Munich Medical International is designed to attract talented fellows and ambitious young scientists from all over the world to join the University Hospital's clinics and research teams. Together we aim to build future Centers of Excellence.

We offer highly qualified training programs and consulting services. Our package is designed for academic and business leaders and affiliated vocational groups in hospitals, universities, state and non-state organizations form around the world. We plan and manage clinical service centers and deliver high-standard patient care.

We offer a special “Teach the Teacher Program” for medical instructors to improve the quality of education regarding content, structure and didactics. The program was developed in cooperation with Harvard Medical International and has been conducted for Medical Faculties in Germany and Europe.

The goals of the program are on two levels – individual and organizational. Our aim is to create more self-directed teachers, whose actions are guided by adult learning principles in all their educational ventures. Second, the institution hopes to train a cadre of tutors who possess a higher degree of commitment to the organizational change in which they are participating.

Exercises throughout the five-day immersion course require active participation of the faculty and include:

• case writing
• tutoring
• assessment strategies
• reflection on their own teaching
• presentation skills

To date, more than 650 faculty members have been trained in this format.

The LMU-MMI faculty conducts further training and further education events for executives in all areas of the health care sector, e.g. Risk Management, Patient Safety or General Hospital Management customized for CEOs.
